The Box

Ten dried pods in numbered glassine pouches, two pairs of nitrile gloves, and a heat card. The lid lists all ten peppers. The pouches are numbered one to ten and say nothing else.

The order is shuffled for every box. Nobody outside the packing room knows which number is the Reaper, including us once it ships.

Dried pods keep for about a year and need no cold pack.

The Carolina Reaper averages 1.64 million Scoville. The ghost pepper is close to a million. Most people get twenty minutes of sweating and hiccups. Some people get a hospital visit.

Not for anyone under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, or living with a heart condition, asthma, GERD, ulcers, IBS, Crohn's, colitis, or a nightshade allergy.

Wear the gloves in the box. Capsaicin sticks to skin through a rinse. When it hits, whole milk, yogurt, or bread. Water spreads it.

Questions

Do you tell me which pepper is which?
No. The lid lists all ten varietals and their Scoville ranges. It does not say which numbered pouch holds which, and the order is shuffled for every box.
Fresh or dried?
Dried whole pods, sealed individually. Shelf-stable for about a year. They arrive intact.
Can I cook with them?
The seven milder ones, yes. Ancho, guajillo, and cascabel are good chiles for a mole or a chili. The two superhots are not for cooking.
What if a pod arrives crushed?
Email a photo to support@isthispepperhot.com and we replace the box or refund it, your choice, no return needed. Unopened boxes can go back within 30 days. We do not refund orders for being too hot.
Do you ship outside the US?
Not yet. Import rules for dried produce vary by country, and we would rather not have a box seized at a border.
